Ranking System for Cappers Watchdog

Ranking System

DOGS DOZEN
We utilize two different methods in ranking our handicappers in an effort to give our visitors as much information as possible. We list our top ten overall cappers each week on our homepage by units earned for the previous week. On the individual sports pages we use the same method to rank the top 12 handicappers of the week, month and season. List may be less than 12 due to not enough handicappers or because we only display + points records. In addition to that we also rank the handicappers by actual win/loss percentage weekly, monthly and per season. Ties are disregarded. The Top Ten Overall rank and all weekly ranks are from Sunday to Saturday and re-set on Saturday evening after all games are finished. The monthly ranks are from the first through the end of each month. Each handicapper must meet a minimum number of picks to make and remain on the top 12 handicapper rank lists for each sport.

Scoring System for Units Earned

BASKETBALL and FOOTBALL
On all point spread picks as well as over/under plays the handicappers are awarded with 100 points for each win and -110 for each loss. Just as if you placed a $110 wager on the game you would either win $100 or lose the $110. Those points are then multiplied by the number of units (1-5) suggested by the handicapper for that individual pick. example: the capper suggests to take the Dolphins +7.5 and play 3 units ( 3 times your normal wager). If the Dolphins win, its +300 points (equivalent of wagering $330 to win $300) and if the lose, its -330 points.

The moneyline is based on 100 points as well. example 1: the capper suggests to take the Lakers -150 and play 1 unit ( your normal wager). If the Lakers win, its +100 (equivalent of wagering $150 to win $100) and if they lose, its -150. example 2:   the capper suggests to take the Knicks +200 and play 1 unit ( your normal wager). If the Lakers win, its +200 (equivalent of wagering $100 to win $200) and if they lose, its -100.

BASEBALL and HOCKEY
On all over/under plays the handicappers are awarded with 100 points for each win and -110 for each loss. Just as if you placed a $110 wager on the game you would either win $100 or loose the $110. Those points are then multiplied by the number of units (1-5) suggested by the handicapper for that individual pick. example: the capper suggests to take the Black Hawks over 5.5 and play 3 units ( 3 times your normal wager). If the games total is over 5.5, its +300 points (equivalent of wagering $330 to win $300) and if the lose, its -330 points.

The moneyline is based on 100 points as well. example 1:   the capper suggests to take the Kings -125 and play 1 unit ( your normal wager). If the Kings win, its +100 (equivalent of wagering $125 to win $100) and if they lose, its -125.example 2:    the capper suggests to take the Stars +180 and play 1 unit ( your normal wager). If the Stars win, its +180 (equivalent of wagering $100 to win $180) and if they lose, its -100.

The point spread works the same as the moneyline since each spread is valued by a moneyline. example :    Sharks +.5(+140)

The bottom line is:

The units earned in our ranking lists are equal to what you would have in your wallet if you wagered to win $100 per unit suggested on every game picked by that handicapper service.
